You won't get far without ammo. BB's are the primary consumable of airsoft, and they're the single most imporant link in the chain when it comes to accuracy and consistency. You want a high quality BB that is polished, and consistent (i.e. no air bubbles), so that your shots are predictable. Any upgrades you make to your rifle, or adjustments, are based on the BB that you're using.

Plastic BB's, or standard BB's, are the most common, as they offer superb performance, and fantastic results based on their manufacturing process. They are available in a large variety of weights, allowing you to choose what will work best for you.

0.25g BB's are the firm-favourite of the ardent airsofter - they are far more stable than the standard 0.20g, and although they move slower (i.e. the BB takes longer to reach the target), the improved consistency is worth it. Due to the increased mass, they're not blown off-course as easily, and they have more impact when hitting your target (especially at longer ranges). Due to the increase in weight, although they are compatible with virtually every airsoft gun, it is not recommended to use in Budget Airsoft Guns. 0.25g BB's will typically need more hop-up applied to lift, and as such your hop up will wear out sooner, however the benefit is that you're using less ammo to hit the target.
